Last year the Chicago Cultural Mile Association launched one of Chicago’s most exciting, new initiatives, The Halloween Gathering Festival and Parade. This powerful event gathered Chicago’s vast and diverse creative communities for an afternoon festival culminating with a magical nighttime parade. Drawing together world-renowned institutions including the Field Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as unique local organizations like Louder Than a Bomb, Silent Theatre Company, and guilds of artists in assorted fields, this dramatic display activated Halloween as the “artist’s holiday” along one of the most prestigious cultural avenues in the world.

we all live here participated by recreating the famous "Twist and Shout" scene from the iconic Chicago film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." We found the actual builder of the original movie float and created an almost exact replica. We then invited members of the Chicago Children's Choir Alumni to be on the float with us to sing and dance. The award winning Marist High School marching band completed our recreation by following the float with a 125 person contingency that provided the music for "Twist and Shout." needless to say it was a successful event and everyone had a blast.

Please join us for the 2nd annual Halloween Gathering on Saturday October 22, 2016!
